On Friday, June 12, 2009, SPACE in Evanston, will showcase the best of the Mississippi Delta Bluesmen – never before on one stage – a historic lineup of six generations of distinguished blues musicians in a unique and intimate space. The audience will be up close and personal with 93-year-old Grammy Award Winner, guitarist David “Honeyboy” Edwards, John Primer – the last lead guitarist in the Muddy Waters Blues Band, Dennis Binder – a classic keyboardist who recorded in the early 1950s, at the cusp of blues melding r&b and country, and Big Jack Johnson and the Oilers - the quintessential electric Delta Blues trio.

The Blue Four is the younger group of Chicago blues players who complete the Chicago connection. The band includes the ubiquitous Kenny Smith on drums, hard driving Chris James on guitar and rock steady Patrick Rynn on bass, and Bob Corritore blowing harmonica. Special guest, the formidable keyboard player Allen Batts, will round out this dynamic combo.
